Frock envy.

I love everything about girly vintage dresses. Silk, chiffon, bows, Peter Pan collars, pearl buttons, puffy sleeves, and everything in between are right up my ally. So it's only fitting that I would immediately fall in love with Miss Patina upon first sight. Miss Patina is a London-based brand of cute, flirty, vintage, and retro-inspired fashions created by a design team at the London College of Fashion. Their dresses are absolutely gorgeous and add an instant touch of whimsy and elegance to any girl's wardrobe. And a huge bonus - they ship worldwide for free! I might just have to give into temptation and get my hands on some of this stuff. ;) Here's a collection of some of my favorite Miss Patina pieces.

Colorful hair.

Hello again, lovelies! I'm glad to get back to blogging. This past week has been a flurry of packing and cleaning that culminated in my moving out of my campus house and into an apartment with a friend about a half hour away. After I got myself all situated, I went car shopping on Sunday and went on some test drives. I'm going back tomorrow to do a couple more and my dad is coming down this weekend to finalize my purchase. I've narrowed it down to a Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sentra, and Hyundai Accent. If you're familiar with any of these models, I'd appreciate your input.

When my dad visits this weekend, him, Alex, and I are going to look at some 2-bedroom apartments near campus for me and Alex this fall. But before that happens, my friends Jason and Alyssa (and Alex, course) and I will be going to Cedar Point on Friday. (Cedar Point is this really big theme park, comparable to Six Flags, but even better in my opinion). I'm really excited because I haven't been to an amusement park in 4 years or so. I've resolved to go on all the crazy scary rides I've always been too afraid to go on in the past.

Now that I've gotten all the updating out of the way, I recently stumbled upon a blog that features only pictures of dyed hair that I wanted to share with you all. I've always thought pastel-colored hair looked really cool. Below is a collection of my favorite dye jobs on blonde and brown hair.

Moving notice!

I'm moving out of my house on Thursday, which is when our lease ends, so this week has been filled with a lot of packing and cleaning. Because everything is so busy right now and I'm on a deadline, I just wanted to let you all know that I will be taking a short week-long break from Go Grad Girl so I can focus on moving and settling in to my new place. No big, just thought I'd give you all a heads up.

Alex and I will be staying with a friend for a few weeks while we look for an apartment or house of our own. We're very excited. We've also started narrowing down pet names for when we get a dog or a cat shortly after we move in to the new pad. :) I'm starting my new job (woot!) in mid-September and getting a new car as well, so there'll be a lot of changes and transitions happening for me over the next couple of weeks.

Thank you for your support and encouragement in my job search! I'll see you all next week! ♥

The Burning House.

"If your house was burning, what would you take with you? It's a conflict between what's practical, valuable and sentimental. What you would take reflects your interests, background and priorities. Think of it as an interview condensed into one question."

^ This is the question, or rather, scenario, posed by The Burning House. It's one we've all thought about and had friends and family ask us before, but TBH takes it one step further and actually documents and showcases photographs and illustrations of what people say they would take with them in the case their houses burn down. What a great idea, right?! I'm going to start working on my entry soon!

Anyone can submit to The Burning House. All you has to do is fill out an informational form via TBH's website and email the accompanying photo to owner Foster Huntington. Below are some submissions currently featured on The Burning House.

Also, I'm extending the deadline to enter my first giveaway by 1 week, meaning you have until Monday, August 29th to enter, so hop to it! ;) Happy Monday!

Casper & Pearl photoshoot.

I love the beautifully whimsical photoshoot Claire Alice Young did last month for handmade Australian clothing line Casper & Pearl. Gorgeously feminine and flirty vintage dresses are paired perfectly with grungy combat boots in this shoot which set in a magical wooded forest. Everything about this label exudes a youthful playfulness and innocence that's just so intoxicating. I've very much fallen in love with not only the Casper & Pearl line, but also Claire Alice Young's photography.
Below is a collection of pictures from the photoshoot and an accompanying behind the scenes video. Enjoy!
Want to snag one of Casper & Pearl's adorable dresses or headbands for yourself? Head on over to the online C&P shop! I personally am a huge fan of their jersey turban headbands. Must get one for self soon.
