The Cosby Sweater Project.

I love coming across awesome blogs like
The Cosby Sweater Project that utilize a collection of images in a creative way that most people wouldn't have thought to. CSP takes pictures from old Cosby Show episodes and creates digital prints of the characters' sweaters. Pretty cool, right? :) The juxtaposition of the prints and the pictures they were drawn from, as seen below and displayed on the blog, creates a really nice eye-catching visual. It's almost as if the sweaters are brought to life by the creation of these prints. Here are some of my favorite patterns.
I started my "big girl" job officially this week after a few days of orienation last week. Everything's going great so far. Everyone in the office is very friendly and willing to answer any questions or help you in any way they can. My supervisors and I had a meeting this morning to hash out our communication/pr strategy and I'm excited to get to work on that. I'll be revamping all of our social media outlets, taking down our old Facebook, Twitter, etc. and building them back up.

Also, my alma mater Ohio State just started school today which makes me a little nostalgic for college, even though I haven't been gone for that long. It's only been three months since gradation. I don't feel like an "adult" yet, though, to be honest, even though I'm out of college and have a full-time job now. Not that I'm supposed to feel all grown up or anything, it's just that I still feel very much like a college student. In any case, I'm looking forward to this weekend and hanging out with friends since there'll undoubtedly be a lot going on.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Retro living: Kitschy kitchens

In thinking about how I want to decorate my new apartment (that I'll be moving into in about 2 weeks), I've decided retro 60s/kitsch is definitely the way I want to go. I love everything about the 60s, especially the decor. Scalloped oak coffee tables, end tables, and chairs, wooden tube TVs, and console record players are absolutely gorgeous to me and I've been doing everything I can to get my hands on some of these beautiful pieces. Check out these gorgeous 50s and 60s kitschens!

What's your decorating style?

Nautical whimsy.

So many beautiful photographs, so little time. Marie of The Dying Swans takes the most beautiful pictures. In fact, she was just recently featured in Nylon Korea magazine for her whimsical  shots. I'm sure I'll feature Marie's work again here at GGG. Check out these beautiful glitter-boat pictures. So dreamy!

Today was my last day of orientation at my new job this week before I officially begin this coming Monday. We've just been going over a lot of mandatory material and filling out of forms for the past couple of days; pretty boring stuff, but necessary to complete regardless. I know for sure that Monday will consist of writing a few press releases (at the very least) about our upcoming year, which I'm looking forward to because I'm pretty much going to be in charge of all of our media and marketing needs.

But before I get down to business, I'll be going home this weekend to visit the fam. My dad's company is celebrating its 100th aniversary which we'll be attending an event in celebration of. Should be a good weekend. Happy almost weekend!

Lookbook lust.

Good morning, lovelies! I thought I'd start off the day with a little fall lookbook eye candy. Love is a UK-based brand made famous through its partnership with internationally recognized clothing conglomerate, TopShop. I love Love's lookbook below; most everything is perfect for fall.

Also, today is my first day at my first real "big girl" job! Wish me luck! :)

Home decor: wall art.

Now that I know where I'll be living this year, I've started to think about how I want to decorate my new apartment. The living room isn't very large, so I think the walls will be my main focus for decoration. I came across Sarah McNeil's Flickr Photostream while catching up on my of my daily blog reads. I love her portraits of people and animals and the pastel colors she uses in her pieces. My whole apartment is painted a lovely beige color, and Sarah's art would look great on my living room walls. :) Here are some of my favorite prints of Sarah's:

You can find Sarah's blog here and her Etsy shop here.

Pretty skyline.

The other night the dusk skyline was so gorgeous here, I had to take pictures. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen. The sky was pink, blue, golden orange, and grey all the same time. It was absolutely beautiful. Here are some snapshots I took before it became completely dark out.

(Pictures unedited!)
Some quick updates:
     - I purchased a new 2011 Toyota Corolla a few days ago and I'm extremely happy with     it. We're a Toyota family, so I pretty much knew I'd follow suit.
     - Alex and I found an apartment yesterday that's close to campus and work and is also super cheap on rent and brand new! We're very pleased with the place and are looking forward to moving in on October 1st.
     - I start my job Tuesday of next week! We'll be having orientation for three days and getting Friday off. I'm excited to start work and meet everybody in the office.

I hope everyone's enjoying the transition to fall as much as I am! The weather's been cooling down here a bit and it's much appreciated. :) Happy Wednesday!

Etsy purchases. {part 1}

Here's the first half of clothing I purchased from what can best be described as an Etsy shopping spree. Every single piece I bought fit perfectly and I couldn't be more excited to wear them this fall. They all have that wonderfully vintage smell that only real vintage clothing has. :) I squealed with delight when I opened my mailbox and saw my packages sitting there waiting for me.

Outfit 1: Shirt, belt, and wedges - vintage, shorts - my closet
Outfit 2: Shirt - vintage, black tank top, shorts, and flats - my closet

Outfit 3: Shirt - vintage, shorts and flats - my closet
Outfit 4: Dress, belt, and boots - vintage, cardigan - my closet

Hat: borrowed

Every single one of these pieces was $10 or under. Can you believe it?! I love buying cheap vintage clothes. It makes me absolutely giddy with delight and satisfaction. The second half of my order should be arriving tomorrow or Wednesday and I can't wait! I probably shouldn't go shopping for the next couple of months, though haha.

Amusement park photos.

On Friday, my friends Jason, Alyssa, and I made our way to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio for CP's last weekday of being open before switching to weekends only. We purchased our tickets from the student union for half off of the regular $50 ticket price, paying only $25 per person. It was a great idea on our part to wait until September to go to Cedar Point, as the longest line we waited in was only a half hour long. We ended up riding 10 roller coasters in roughly four hours. It was a great day. Here are some photos of our excursion.
